Forbidden Films at the Mayfair

Join us for an afternoon of sensual cinema at the Mayfair, Ottawa’s oldest active movie theater, where we will showcase short erotic films that explore the spectrum of human sexual desire.

For the first edition of this new event series, we have partnered with Four Chambers, an independent, conceptual, pornography project that aims to expand the idea of what sex on film could say, do and be. The project remains deliberately ambiguous, rejecting labels for both their films and performers, existing in-between genres of both art and pornography and dismissing the need for a definition of either.

Before the screening starts, a panel of pleasure professionals, including Muse Fontaine, will join together on stage for a facilitated discussion about issues related to the production of mainstream pornography (e.g., fair compensation, safe working conditions, agency, representation, consent, etc.) and important considerations for healthy and ethical porn consumption.
